Job Summary
Provide quality assessment, referral, and housing information to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Conduct service delivery aligned with national and state strategic plans, developing support, action, and safety plans to respond to immediate client needs and vulnerabilities. Refer clients to appropriate community supports, emergency services, or allied professionals to manage assessed risks and maintain wellbeing. Work on a 24/7 predominantly after-hours roster in St Kilda, VIC, reporting to the Team Leader. This role supports the Salvation Army's mission to end homelessness by ensuring every person is afforded dignity and access to safe, affordable housing.
Required Qualifications
- A Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Community Development or a related field (minimum diploma)
- Demonstrated experience in a social service environment, with a focus on homelessness
- A current and valid Employee Working with Children's Check
- Applicants for all roles require a mandatory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
- Casual role that works on a 24/7 predominantly after hours roster
- Located in St Kilda, VIC
