Job Summary
Insurance Verifier role responsible for verifying insurance coverage and eligibility, handling pre-authorization/pre-certifications, posting charges, collecting co-pays and out-of-pocket amounts, and counseling patients on insurance and payment issues prior to surgery. Duties include obtaining and entering patient insurance and demographic information into the billing system, registering patients, balancing receipts and daily batches, and maintaining accurate audit trails. Strong emphasis on front-office functions within a medical environment and collaboration with the Business Office Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- College degree a plus
- Two years minimum front office experience in a medical environment
