Job Summary
Insurance Verification Specialist role overseeing and managing the verification of benefits process to ensure accurate policy reviews, determining patient financial responsibility, and supporting reimbursement. Responsibilities include verifying insurance benefits for new/returning patients, documenting data in Salesforce, informing teams of insurance/referral issues, identifying policy clauses for financial decisions, educating patients and families on insurance matters, identifying third-party financial benefits for financial counseling and revenue cycle, supporting admissions/revenue cycle teams, and investigating escalated billing inquiries. Requires 3-5 years of relevant healthcare administrative/insurance experience, knowledge of medical billing practices, confidentiality, strong communication, organizational and detail-oriented skills. This full-time, exempt role is remote (LI-REMOTE) with Nashville, TN as a reflected location for applicant location.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years related work experience in health care administrative, financial, insurance, customer services, claims, billing, call center, or management
- Knowledge of medical billing practices, office policies and procedures
- Knowledge of all confidentially requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality on all such information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality of medical information
- Strict attention to details
