Insurance Verification Coordinator II

Job Summary
Obtain benefit information for new and established patients lacking verification within 90 days, including deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance amounts. Document all pertinent data in the Patient Registration and Insurance Eligibility boxes while communicating with scheduling coordinators and patient service associates for stat verifications. Perform this work in a timely manner to support the precertification specialist and collection team, maintaining high customer service standards and adhering to company policies. Requires full understanding of the Spine Team Texas mission and active participation in fulfilling its goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years Medical Billing or pre-certification experience
- Detail oriented and organizational skills
- Computer experience, typing and ability to operate calculator
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients and insurance carriers
- Possess the ability to work productively, either independently or with other individuals
- Possess the ability to plan and execute work projects
- Proficient in communicating in the English language both written and verbally
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time in a well-lit, air conditioned office environment
- Must have ability to lift a minimum of 5 pounds
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Tasks involve no exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials
- Ability to quickly understand new information and situations
- Observance of Company policies and procedures
- Consistent adherence to work schedule
- Ability to work in a team for the betterment of staff, patients, and the Company
Desired Qualifications
- Coding Certificate or knowledge preferred
