Job Summary
Verify patient demographic information, insurance details, and personal data through system applications, websites, or telephone. Confirm and validate patient insurance coverage, including policy details and pre-authorization requirements, while ensuring compliance with insurance and regulatory guidelines. Assist in preparing and processing medical insurance claims, submitting required forms such as treatment plans and OC110A via the NYS Onboard portal. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in patient information, billing, or insurance details to ensure accurate and timely resolution. Work Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm, at a competitive rate of $21/hour. This role supports HPM's management of medical practices specializing in Pain Management and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation across Long Island, NYC, and surrounding regions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience with insurance carrier verification/prior authorization process
- Must have a strong knowledge of payer regulations and requirements
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
- Proficient in the use of computers, insurance web portals and keyboarding with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Detail oriented
- Strong team player
- Superior customer service and communication skills
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet high productivity and accuracy standards
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm schedule
