Job Summary
Senior Trial Attorney (Work From Home) to defend insureds in insurance-defense matters for Sentry. You will manage a full caseload from initial pleadings through trial, including pleadings, motion practice, depositions, written discovery, expert witness retention, dispositive motions, and trial preparation/presentation with minimal oversight. Must communicate progress to policyholders and claims teams, handle examinations under oath, sworn statements, and other non-litigated matters as needed. Requires a Juris Doctor degree, bar admission in good standing in at least one state (TX preferred), and 7+ years of related experience in insurance defense litigation. Bilingual preferred. Remote role with limited travel; candidate should reside in or around Houston, TX, or be willing to work remotely from Texas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Juris Doctor Degree
- Licensed attorney in at least one state (TX preferred)
- 7+ years of insurance defense litigation experience
- Experience taking/defending depositions, court appearances, dispositive motions, retaining expert witnesses, and trial experience as first chair or solo trial counsel
