Job Summary
Insurance Representative responsible for processing and correcting insurance claims and payments. Responsibilities include weekly review and correction of claim edits (CPT/ICD-10 data, referring doctor name/UPIN, modifiers), addressing claim rejections, follow-up of aged accounts and denials, communicating with carriers, handling patient and provider calls regarding claims and statements, identifying and resolving COB errors, and performing related duties and projects with occasional overtime. Requires knowledge of health care insurance claim practices, clinic policies, medical terminology, and proficient use of computer systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of experience working insurance AR follow up and claims processing in a health care setting; including denials and appeals.
