Job Summary
Conduct on-site property, general liability, and incidental auto inspections for commercial and residential buildings to prepare reports for insurance underwriting. Upload completed reports, photos, and diagrams through web-based systems or special websites. Travel within a 60-mile radius to perform loss control surveys that guide underwriters in policy selection and assist insureds in controlling losses. Requires 3–5 years of experience with commercial carriers or independent contractors, plus strong writing, organizational, and computer skills. Preferred certifications include CSP, OHST, ALCM, or ARM.
Required Qualifications
- 3 – 5 years' experience with a commercial carrier or working as an independent contractor providing commercial insurance loss control services
- Understanding of commercial property and casualty lines including property, general liability, auto and workers compensation
- Solid communication skills—including exceptional writing ability, organizational skills, and computer skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Travel within a reasonable territory, 60 mile radius
