INSURANCE LITIGATION PARALEGAL

Job Summary
Prepare, review, edit, and file legal documents; review incoming discovery for deficiencies and prepare supplemental requests. Summarize criminal records and draft background memoranda on witnesses. Coordinate electronic case filings and organize case files, attorney notebooks, and databases. Interact with experts and other paralegals to manage heavy workloads. Assist attorneys with trial preparation by arranging travel, filing motions, preparing exhibits, and coordinating witnesses. Develop, respond to, or object to interrogatories and requests to admit. Draft and edit pleadings, including reviewing complaints, counterclaims, and motions to dismiss. Coordinate and track project activities while maintaining confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of legal experience
- Associate's degree in paralegal or legal studies or other related discipline
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong command of the English language
- Detail-oriented
- Sense of initiative
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressured environment
Desired Qualifications
- 4+ years in legal experience
- Paralegal certification from ABA-approves program
- Ability to create, compose, proof and edit correspondence
