Job Summary
Submit and follow up on claims to third-party payers to ensure prompt reimbursements. Monitor claim status to identify corrections or appeals needed. Investigate and resolve problems with claims while communicating effectively with payers and internal teams. Utilize medical billing software, Excel, and Word to manage workflows, with GPMS experience preferred. Requires two years of medical insurance or billing experience, proficiency in medical terminology, and strong organizational skills to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years prior experience working with medical insurance or billing
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Broad understanding of medical insurance industry
- Ability to investigate and identify problems with claims
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in various software applications including Word, Excel and medical billing software
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education
- General understanding of work flow in a medical billing environment
- GPMS experience
