Job Summary
Investigate claims status with insurance carriers, correct and resubmit denied claims in the EPIC billing system, and verify accuracy of patient insurance and demographic information. Determine reasons for denial, appeal accounts as necessary, and generate bills to patients for services not covered by insurance. Respond to requests for information and telephone inquiries from patients, carriers, and agencies while investigating over-payments and initiating refund requests. Requires minimum of 3 years of physician billing experience and strong knowledge of medical insurance and healthcare billing. Posted salary range is $24.00 - $31.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of medical insurance and healthcare billing
- Establishes and demonstrates competency in accounts receivable systems and associated applications
- Ability to communicate effectively with insurance carriers, patients, and co-workers
- Excellent verbal and auditory skills
- Minimum of 3 years of Physician Billing experience, including insurance carrier follow up and customer service
