Job Summary
The position entails timely submission of authorization requests for patient care, verification of insurance eligibility, and follow-up to ensure timely approvals, with regular coordination among patients, payers, physicians, and clinical staff. Responsibilities include obtaining initial/reauthorizations, negotiating reimbursements, maintaining progress tracking, and ensuring compliant handling of demographic, insurance, and financial information using various submission methods and EMR/practice management systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an insurance benefits coordinator role; preferably in a home health setting
- Minimum of 1 year of experience using EMR softwares
- Medical billing: 1 year (Required)
- Strong technical aptitude to operate Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and EMR/Practice Management Systems
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Organize and maintain extensive records, research and compile information
- Follow scripted guidelines and policies for patient and payer interactions
