Job Summary
Assist attorneys in answering interrogatories, preparing motions, complaints, briefs, and other legal documents while performing research permitted by State Bar rules. Obtain, review, and summarize medical records at the direction of trial attorneys, arrange for medical examinations, and interview witnesses preparatory to and during trials. Compile answers in final form and prepare evidence for trial as assigned. This virtual position supports the California Staff Counsel team, with a preference for candidates possessing California civil litigation and discovery experience. Candidates must hold a high school diploma, two-year associate degree, or three years of paralegal experience alongside a paralegal certificate or one year of law school. Competitive salary ranges from $27.73 to $47.07 for California residents, with benefits including 401(k), medical, dental, vision, and tuition assistance.
Required Qualifications
- California civil litigation and discovery experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 year Associates Degree OR 3 years experience working as a Paralegal
- Paralegal certificate or a degree in paralegal studies or the completion of at least one year of law school
- One year experience working in a civil litigation law firm
