Job Summary
Insurance Defense Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant/Paralegal needed to support civil defense matters including products liability, construction litigation, toxic torts defense, premises liability, and transportation/insurance coverage. Role requires coordinating subpoenas and document review, interviewing witnesses and coordinating with expert witnesses, preparing and filing legal documents (both paper and electronic), maintaining organized files and trial binders, and managing attorney calendars and travel. Ideal candidate has at least 2 years of defense litigation experience, strong typing (60-70 WPM), proficiency with Word, Outlook, e-filing, and a proven ability to track billable time and support a paperless office. Hybrid/remote work available, with in-office presence most weekdays. Salary range $50,000-$80,000 plus bonus; benefits include 401K, health/dental/vision, LTD/STD, life, HSA/FSA, and fitness facilities.
Required Qualifications
- at least 2 years of solid defense litigation experience
- excellent communication and software skills (Word, Outlook, e-filing)
- typing 60-70 WPM
- track billable time daily
- conduct internet-based investigations
- interview witnesses and coordinate with expert witnesses
- prepare legal documents and correspondence from dictation or written format; draft standard correspondence; proofread, edit, and format documents
- prepare paper court filings and electronic filings
- organize and file electronic and paper documents, exhibits, trial binders
- manage and coordinate attorney calendars, scheduling and travel plans
