Job Summary
Manage insurance defense litigation matters from initial assignment through resolution, including handling court appearances, conferences, and hearings. Draft motions, pleadings, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents while preparing and responding to discovery requests. Review and analyze medical records, expert reports, and case materials, and assist with depositions as experience grows. Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and experts to develop litigation strategy with partners and senior attorneys. Maintain organized case files while meeting deadlines and providing exceptional client service. This role requires an active New York Bar license and at least one year of general liability defense litigation experience.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active New York Bar license
- 1+ year of general liability defense litigation experience
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with construction liability, Labor Law, premises liability, property damage, Child Victim Act, or not-for-profit matters
- Deposition experience
