Job Summary
Manage insurance defense litigation matters from case inception through resolution by drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents. Conduct legal research using Westlaw, develop litigation strategies, and analyze evidence while representing clients in hearings, depositions, and court appearances. Negotiate settlements and maintain organized case files to meet billing expectations and litigation deadlines. Collaborate with experienced attorneys on complex matters involving insurance, construction, and coverage issues. Full-time, primarily on-site role in Chicago, Illinois. Requires an active Illinois Bar license and insurance defense litigation experience.
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Bar license
- 1+ year of insurance defense litigation experience
- Strong knowledge of Illinois civil litigation procedures
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical abilities
- Experience drafting litigation documents and handling discovery
- Familiarity with billing software and meeting billing requirements
