Insurance Coordinator

Job Summary
Educate dialysis patients on insurance options (Medicare, Medicaid, COBRA, State Renal programs) and coordinate enrollment processes in the patient’s geographic area. Act as liaison between patients and insurers, gather and verify documents, manage indigent waiver processes, track Medicare/Medicaid eligibility and open enrollment periods, and provide ongoing education to support optimal insurance coverage and timely payments. Requires regular patient meetings at multiple clinics, extensive documentation, data tracking for revenue cycle management, and strong collaboration with QA and compliance teams. Travel among clinics in the specified region is required; a valid driver’s license is needed. Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and insurance terminology is a plus; strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Social Work or healthcare focus preferred)
- High school diploma with 5+ years experience acceptable
- 2–5 years related experience; healthcare experience preferred
- Experience with Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid systems a plus
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency with PCs and Microsoft Office applications
- Valid Driver’s License
