Job Summary
Assess potential institutional, business, or individual client markets and identify opportunities across automobile, fire, health, life, property, marine, aircraft, and other insurance types. Calculate premiums, establish client coverage and payment methods, and ensure all forms, medical examinations, and policy requirements are completed. Monitor insurance claims and respond to client enquiries while providing information on group and individual packages, risk coverage, and benefits. Deliver customer service with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, working under tight deadlines while managing travel and client interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any field
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the same or a related field
- Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) license
- Experience in insurance, including property/casualty insurance, commercial insurance, individual insurance, and group insurance
- Familiarity with automobile insurance, fire insurance, house insurance, tenant insurance, and travel insurance products
- Bond-able
- Ability to successfully pass a driving record check (abstract), credit check, and criminal record check
- Willingness to work in an office building setup
- Willingness to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform work involving sitting as well as a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- Strong personal suitability including client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work as a team player
- Ability to communicate in English
- Access to own tools and equipment, including a computer, printer, internet access, and a cellular phone
- Access to a personal vehicle and a valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel
