Job Summary
Coordinate and support initiatives for Presumptive Medicaid, Presumptive Eligibility Family Planning Benefit Program, and Family Planning Benefit Program applications across three affiliate sites. Complete the full cycle of patient identification, enrollment, submission, and follow-up for eligible individuals, while verifying insurance coverage and managing recertifications and terminations with Local Departments of Social Services. Compile monthly statistics, train front desk staff on enrollment processes, and ensure accurate data entry into the NextGen system. Monitor outstanding applications, process communications, and handle acceptance, denials, and discontinuations in collaboration with the Billing Department. Requires a full-time, 40-hour schedule (Monday–Friday with occasional evenings/weekends), travel to all locations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in business, health care, or a related field
- Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Application Counselor (CAC) designation
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines and government programs (i.e., Medicaid)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sensitivity toward patient's financial and clinical needs, while maintaining the patient's confidentiality
- Organized, able to prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to support meetings and activities and travel to other sites
- Reliable transportation
- Proficiency in two or more languages
- Ability to lift 25 pounds with or without an accommodation
- Ability to travel to all agency locations as assigned
