Job Summary

Manage check-in/out processes, verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and schedule appointments for patients at the clinic. Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity and compliance checks, and collect insurance information while processing physician orders. Review eligibility responses in the EPIC system, enter benefit data, and screen medical necessity using ABN software for Medicare patients. Explain consent forms, obtain signatures, and distribute patient education documents. Prioritize tasks effectively and collaborate with revenue cycle teams to resolve issues.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in customer service, healthcare settings, or related fields

  • Completion of a program or training in Medical Office Technology or a related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Empathy and patience
  • Proficiency in using electronic records systems and other relevant software
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Accuracy in recording and verifying patient information
  • Ability to handle patient inquiries and resolve issues
  • Ability to manage a busy schedule and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy
