Job Summary
Install insulation on boilers, pipes, tanks, and refrigeration units using fiberglass, cork, plastic, and magnesia to reduce heat loss, prevent moisture condensation, and deaden sound. Wire prefabricated fiberglass covering around steam and hot water piping, trowel mastic or cement for a smooth finish, and fit thermo-block and magnesia-block insulation around boilers, evaporators, and turbines. Cut insulation sheets, fit sections around fittings, and install fiber glass on ventilation systems to prevent vibration. This role involves climbing ladders and scaffolds, lifting 30 to 50 pounds, and working in excessive heat or cold. Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
- Basic knowledge of Insulator hand tools, tape measure, cutting tools, power tools
- NCCER certification may be required at some job sites
- Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
- Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
