Job Summary
Instrumentational Electrician responsible for both instrumentation and electrical work: install, maintain, and repair automated valves and field instrumentation; troubleshoot plant process control systems; install and maintain electrical wiring/conduit, switches, motor control centers, and breakers. Requires reading P&ID drawings, electrical schematics, and control wiring sheets; proficient with CMMS systems (e.g., Tabware); strong troubleshooting and safety mindset; will operate in a unionized Hammond, IN facility with ISO 9001/RCMS compliance and OSHA/EPA protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school or GED
- At least five (5) years of industrial experience in a chemical plant or related industry
- Knowledge of instrumentation and process control systems
- Ability to read and follow P&ID drawings
- Ability to read and create electrical and circuit diagrams
- Experience with CMMS (Tabware or similar)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of electric codes and electrical safety
- Ability to interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Ability to work with PPE and adhere to OSHA regulations
