Job Summary
Oversee the Instrumentation Technician team, manage scheduling, and deliver training programs while driving a culture of safety and communication. Lead troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, and quality vision systems, and maintain the plant's technical database and electrical standard work plans. Collaborate with operational leads to enhance line support processes, plan maintenance using SAP, and participate in the Controls On-Call rotation for after-hours coverage. Perform electrical repairs, calibrate instruments, and modify programs to ensure line uptime and quality production in a 24/7 roofing manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience with a high school diploma or GED, or 4 years with an associate degree
- Split duties between office and production floor
- Mandatory PPE required on the production floor
- Work in a 24/7 operation
- Occasional extended hours for troubleshooting and projects
- Exposure to temperature fluctuations
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Exposure to airborne particles
- Exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals
- Physical activities include climbing
- Physical activities include bending
- Physical activities include lifting up to 25 pounds
- Physical activities include working in confined spaces
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with process control and PID tuning
- HMI programming experience (Wonderware preferred)
- Background in roofing manufacturing, web process handling, or similar industries
- Experience with machine vision systems
- Experience with robotics
- Experience with IIOT devices
- Experience with field service
- Knowledge of NEC and electrical distribution
