Job Summary
The Instrumentation Technician role involves troubleshooting instrumentation equipment issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Candidates must possess advanced electro-mechanical knowledge and be able to interpret complex schematics. A high school diploma or similar education is preferred, along with at least 8-15 years of experience in plant maintenance and instrumentation. Responsibilities include documenting work orders, mentoring lower-level technicians, and actively engaging with stakeholders across departments.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman experience (8 plus years)
- Plant maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair controlling, indicating and measuring instrument devices
- Some knowledge of electrical schematics and PLCs
- Ability to read and understand manuals, blueprint schematics and testing specifications
- Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation of analog instrumentation systems and SCADA systems
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of relevant software tools (i.e., Programmable Logic Controller, Microsoft etc.)
- Familiarity with enterprise CMMS (Computer‐Aided Maintenance Management System) software and Confluence
- May require trade knowledge in a specialized field
- Semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing experience preferred
