Job Summary
Instrumentation Support Intern will support engineering teams with building, maintaining, and repairing complex data acquisition vehicle setups. Responsibilities include cable assembly and wire termination (e.g., Lemo, D-Sub cables), testing and diagnostics of data acquisition boxes, testing procedures for pressure sensors and transducers, configuring lab equipment for vehicle builds, inventory management of lab tools, and supporting sustainability by recycling old cables and components. Requires hands-on skills in wire terminations, soldering, crimping, basic DAQ concepts, and a foundational understanding of CAN bus protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Academic Enrollment: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related technical field.
- Academic Performance: Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Technical Fundamentals: A foundational understanding of the CAN bus protocol and data frames.
- Hands-on Skills: A general, entry-level understanding of wire terminations, soldering, and crimping techniques.
- Data Literacy: A basic grasp of data acquisition (DAQ) concepts and equipment.
