Job Summary
Specifying, start-up, calibration, and troubleshooting site instrumentation including transmitters, analyzers, and motor control equipment like VFDs and soft starters. Read process and instrumentation drawings, mark up as-built control system details, and troubleshoot PLC logic and relay systems. Develop, modify, and troubleshoot SCADA software using GE Vernova's Cimplicity and Inductive Automation's Ignition while installing computer and networking equipment. Recommend necessary mechanical and electrical equipment modifications in the field. Work 80-100% of the time at Tigard, Oregon client sites in a construction and industrial environment with occasional weekend requirements and on-call rotation. Requires a valid driver's license, ability to travel, and full dexterity for ladder and confined space access.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of field experience
- Instrumentation – Specification, start-up, calibration, and troubleshooting of site related instrumentation
- Ability to read Process and Instrumentation, Control Loop, installations details, and Control Panel drawings along with understanding Sequence Of Operations
- Responsibility for the red line as-built mark-up of drawings to document the current state of existing control systems
- Troubleshooting motor control equipment – FVNR Motor Starters, Variable Frequency Drives, and Soft Starts
- Knowledgeable of all necessary safety requirements while working with this type of equipment
- Develop, Modify and Troubleshooting SCADA software, GE Vernova's Cimplicity and Inductive Automation's Ignition
- Knowledge of industrial protocols
- Troubleshooting PLC logic (Rockwell SLC, PLC5, CLX, and Emerson RX3i, 90/30), relay logic, and other associated control equipment
- Able to recommend necessary equipment modifications in the field, both mechanical and electrical
- Installation and start-up of computer and networking equipment
- Experience with industrial networking
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to and from client sites as required
- Fluency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
- Full dexterity of hands and feet at a job site
- Ladder and possible confined space access required
- Use of hand tools required
- Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, climbing, ability to mount and dismount equipment, pushing, pulling, warm and cold temperature conditions, sun exposure, moisture, potential exposure to hazardous materials and electrical voltages
- 80% to 100% work site location
- Standard Monday-Friday working hours with occasional hours over 40 and possible weekend requirements
- Construction and industrial environment
- Frequent PC and cell phone usage
- On-site office environment, diverse industrial environments
- On-site environment could require work in various temperature conditions; in and/or around moisture, on slippery and/or uneven surfaces
- Will require frequent standing, and occasional bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, balancing, and reaching
- Will have exposure to noise, vibrations and chemicals
- May require irregular or extended hours, subject to being on call
Desired Qualifications
- Ideal candidate would have over 2 years' experience with the responsibilities listed
- Experience working with general contractors, other trades (e.g. electrical, mechanical, HVAC)
- Building management system (BMS) experience
- Semiconductor environment control for clean space, providing heating, cooling and waste management
- Able to work effectively and professionally with Customers and maintain business relationships
- Ability to work as part of a team professionally
- Industrial protocols: Modbus, ProfiNet, IO-Link, MQTT, Sparkplug B, Ethernet/IP
