Job Summary
Instrumentation Engineer role based in Pune, India, focusing on design engineering for medium-to-high complexity instrumentation projects. Responsibilities include planning and scheduling EIA-related activities, selecting and sizing field instruments, preparing Instrument Index, Data Sheets, BOM, Cable/JB schedules, PLC I/O calculations, and designing PLC panels and low-voltage electrical panels. Requires knowledge of IEC/BS/ANSI/NFPA/ISA/UL standards, CE/UL norms, and HAZOP studies, plus familiarity with PLC systems, I/O, HMI, and SCADA. Will review vendor drawings, conduct technical bid evaluations, support procurement, coordinate design activities, and attend site meetings with customers and external suppliers. 4-8 years engineering experience and a BE in Instrumentation & Control Engineering are required. Fluency in English and strong communication/negotiation skills, cross-cultural awareness, and a structured, quality-focused mindset are emphasized. Prior exposure to INTOOLS and ePlan is preferred; the role emphasizes customer-oriented delivery and collaboration within a global, diverse team.
Required Qualifications
- B.E. in Instrumentation & Control Engineering (required)
- 4 to 8 years engineering experience
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation design tools (e.g., INTOOLS and ePlan)
- Knowledge of PLC systems, I/O cards, HMI, and SCADA
- Familiarity with instrumentation standards (IEC, BS, ANSI, NFPA, ISA, UL)
- CE and UL norms awareness and HAZOP experience
- Ability to review engineering documents, perform bid evaluations, and support procurement
- Plan and coordinate design activities; site meetings with customers and suppliers
