Job Summary
Participates in the design, fabrication, calibration, installation, maintenance and repair of agency instrumentation, electronics, controls equipment, and plant control systems (PCS). Performs field and bench repair of instrumentation, equipment, and computer assemblies; inspects, troubleshoots, calibrates, and modifies measurement and control systems, including PLCs and networked hardware. Familiarity with TCP/IP, ModBus, and Profibus; responsible for maintaining maintenance records and coordinating with other divisions. Requires ability to design, fabricate, program, install, troubleshoot, modify, repair and monitor plant control equipment and associated software, and to work under general supervision. Must possess and maintain required safety certifications; willingness to work on-call and adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or vocational technical degree or specialized training equivalent to two years of college education with emphasis in electronics technology
- Valid SC Driver's License
- Confined space entry certification and other safety certifications as deemed necessary
- Optional Biological Wastewater Operator Level “D” license
- May be required to obtain additional technical/safety certifications as deemed necessary
- Experience: over one (1) year and up to two (2) years
