Job Summary
Mid-level Instrumentation Designer responsible for developing and maintaining P&IDs, instrument indexes, I/O lists, wiring/loop diagrams, and tubing installations. Requires collaboration with engineering leads, field verification, and oversight of project instrumentation scope, budget, and schedule. Mentors junior designers and ensures compliance with project standards; requires travel to project sites for short-term field visits and plant/industrial environments.
Required Qualifications
- 4–9 years of applicable instrumentation design experience
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology, Instrumentation, or a related discipline
- Proficient with industry codes and design practices
- Understanding of control system modifications, wiring, and fusible loop systems
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and contribute to client discussions on instrument scope
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Software: AutoCAD, MicroStation, SPI, or Aveva E3D; Excel, Word, PowerPoint (preferred)
