Job Summary
Conduct day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Rio Bravo Rocklin Power Plant, including supporting plant operations, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems. Calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and modify power plant instrumentation, control components, and systems such as transmitters, analyzers, sensors, and the DCS. Manage work order CMMS, budget planning, outage planning, and plant safety and environmental programs while maintaining logs and records of operating conditions and irregularities. Start-up, operate, and shutdown assigned equipment under normal and emergency conditions, performing scheduled maintenance and assisting in plant design modifications. Requires 10-hour shifts with weekend and holiday work; on-call status may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent level of work experience
- Successful completion of applicable Pre-Employment test battery
- Successful completion of applicable Pre-Employment drug testing and formal background checks
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the assigned position
- Must possess solid level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- At least three years of related work experience
- Possess a valid state-issued driver's license
- Must possess basic math skills, basic reading skills, and good verbal/written communications skills
- Must be able to respond to audio alarms and variations of sound
- Must be able to work on feet for extensive periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing, and routinely lifting 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in elevated areas, confined spaces and in extreme heat and cold conditions
- Must be able to work without direct supervision
- Must know the hazards involved and the safety precautions to be practiced in the operation and maintenance of power plant equipment and machinery
- Must be cooperative with those he/she contacts in this work
- Must be able to pool our knowledge and energy to work in tandem to completely understand and productively respond to all of the business challenges
- Requires working 10 hour shifts with weekend and holiday work as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions
- On call status (day and night) may be required
