Job Summary
Lead the design, integration, and commissioning of PLC/DCS/HMI control systems for process-automation projects. Drive problem-to-solution delivery with data-driven decision making, oversee software configuration management for PLC/HMI code and documentation, mentor engineers, engage with vendors, and champion the responsible integration of AI/ML into controls—e.g., automation of calculations, generation of design documentation, and predictive maintenance. Responsibilities include engineering and fabricating test stands and chemical process systems; developing functional requirements and procurement specifications; preparing wiring schematics and I/O maps; system design documentation; and delivering clear technical reports and engineering studies.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 5+ years of experience in design engineering for process control systems
- Hands on expertise with Rockwell/Allen‐Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk systems
- Experience designing, fabricating, assembling, programming, and testing test stands and chemical process systems
- Strong SCM proficiency including Git, versioning, and code reviews
- Excellent communication skills and experience reviewing design drawings
- Active DOE Q Clearance or eligibility to obtain
