Job Summary
Prepare specifications for procurement of instrumentation and controls equipment and engineering calculations while working on multi-discipline projects integrating electrical, computer, and mechanical engineering. Collaborate with client and vendor offices for design reviews and conduct field verification at plant sites. Support station outage activities as required. Utilize modern tools, automation, and AI to solve engineering problems, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs. This role supports life extensions, digital modernization, and new-build projects for existing and advanced nuclear plants.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program with a strong academic background and coursework in analog and digital control systems, systems engineering, mechatronics, or robotics
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering for power plant control systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing or able to solve problems using modern tools
- Ability to take engineering problems from issue to solution using data and modern tools such as automation and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs
- Strong engineering judgment and verification of results when building or using automation to create calculations, summarize technical documents, or draft design documentation
- Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation
- Additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other training in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that helps you apply automation or agentic AI to real engineering problems
