Job Summary
Execute field service work independently or as part of a team, performing advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of field instrumentation. Calibrate, configure, and troubleshoot flow instrumentation including Coriolis, magnetic, vortex, and ultrasonic meters, while conducting in-line and bench verification against reference standards. Collect, compile, and accurately record data to produce detailed site reports and certificates aligned with ISO 17025 expectations. Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective actions through adjustment, component replacement, or correction factors. Lead service technicians during customer engagements and mentor staff in calibration concepts. Manage test equipment to ensure ongoing measurement accuracy and possess the authority to stop processes compromising quality. Requires 90% travel within New England; 10 years of instrumentation experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of instrumentation and calibration experience
- Demonstrated hands-on experience calibrating, configuring, and troubleshooting flow instrumentation across Coriolis, magnetic, vortex, and ultrasonic technologies
- Working knowledge of flow measurement principles, installation effects, and applicable calibration standards
- Experience in entering information into a calibration management system
- Knowledge of or experience with ISO 17025
- Must be able to perform advanced math and algebra functions
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-starter, honest, responsible, timely, detail oriented and self-sufficient
- Basic computer skills
- Proficient in use of MS Word and Excel
- Must have very good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to get along well with others
- Strong attention to details
- Appropriate and professional demeanor and appearance
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs without assistance
- Must be available for 90% travel within the New England area
Desired Qualifications
- ISA Certification (Level 1&2)
- Military experience or certification in electronics
- Manufacturer training or certification on flow products (e.g., Micro Motion, Rosemount, Endress+Hauser, KROHNE)
- Prefer previous experience working in Pharma, Power, or Utilities
- Proficient in viewing, programming, and adjusting a variety of instruments via HART, Foundation Fieldbus, and ProLink communication
- Experience with 4-20 mA current loops
- Experience in various BUS communication protocols
- Ability to perform tasks by referencing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to troubleshoot, program, and adjust instruments by referencing instrument manuals
- In depth experience and understanding of P&IDs, and electrical drawings
