Job Summary

Design, develop, implement, and support software solutions for gas processing equipment, modular skids, and integrated control systems. Program, configure, test, and optimize PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS automation software while creating functional design specifications, control narratives, and documentation. Generate, modify, and validate control system software; configure communication networks using Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, and OPC protocols. Assist in Factory and Site Acceptance Testing, provide field assistance for installations, and troubleshoot start-up issues at customer and vendor facilities. Collaborate with engineering teams to define automation strategies and ensure seamless system integration. Analyze performance data to implement software enhancements that improve reliability and operator experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Automation Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency with industrial programming software, automation tools, networking technologies, and Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under company insurance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to internal teams, customers, contractors, and vendors is required.
  • Must possess the ability to maintain sustained attention and concentration while performing detailed software development and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Must possess the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment requiring consistent focus and accuracy.
  • Must possess the ability to perform work requiring a high degree of precision and quality while maintaining project schedules.
  • Must possess the ability to remain consistently engaged in assigned work and responsive to project and customer needs throughout the workday.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality is required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines utilizing excellent time management skills is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution skills are required.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation for extended periods.
  • Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, and standard office and testing equipment.
  • Must have visual acuity, with or without correction, sufficient to read P&IDs, schematics, HMI displays, and detailed programming documentation.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, and vendors, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and access control panels on modular skids during shop and field work.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
  • Must be able to travel to customer sites, vendor facilities, and field locations as needed.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience programming PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation platforms is preferred.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar industrial control systems is preferred.
  • Experience supporting industrial automation projects in the oil and gas, process, manufacturing, or related industries is preferred.
  • Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and start-up activities is preferred.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols including Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, OPC, and related technologies is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop diagrams, control narratives, and technical specifications is preferred.
  • Knowledge of control panel design, instrumentation systems, and industrial networking concepts is preferred.
