Job Summary
I&C System Engineer contract role providing design and engineering for instrumentation and control systems. Responsibilities include design definition, control systems architecture, development of DCS/PLC/SIS hardware and software applications, creation and review of instrument datasheets, I/O wiring diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, cause-and-effect diagrams, P&ID development support, and reports. Collaborate with project management, vendors, and clients; perform analyses, ensure compliance with project scope, cost, and schedule baselines; support procurement, subcontracting, RFIs, field changes, and construction administration. Requires a BS in Control Systems, Electrical, Chemical, or related engineering field and at least five years of relevant experience; experience with EPC projects, 3D modeling, SPI, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and P&ID representation; knowledge of DOE/federal codes and safety standards; effective communication with diverse stakeholders. Occupation is office-based in Greenville, SC with standard office environment expectations and US citizenship required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related engineering field
- minimum five (5) years of work-related experience
- Working knowledge of applicable federal (including Department of Energy orders), state, and local codes and standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include project management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Intermediate knowledge of discipline codes and standards
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
- Intermediate computer and software skills to include word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
- Experience providing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services on commercial or industrial projects
- Proficiency executing EPC projects utilizing engineering analysis, 3D modeling and 2D Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) automation tools in a multi-discipline environment
