Job Summary
Instrumentation and Control Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical and pneumatic instruments and control systems (including PLC/HMI/SCADA) used to monitor and regulate water distribution and production. Duties include maintaining flow meters, pressure/level transmitters, water quality monitors and remote communications; calibrations and functional tests on PLCs and instrumentation; interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and P&ID drawings; ensuring data accuracy and reliable operation; handling safety protocols in water treatment facilities; occasional travel to Tucson Water sites; driving city vehicle; strong emphasis on hands-on repair, diagnostics, and system optimization. Requires an Associate degree, two years of relevant experience (three+ preferred), and a valid Arizona Class D driver’s license; written exam and in-person panel interview are part of the process.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in relevant field
- Two (2) years of relevant experience
- Experience with instrumentation and controls (PLC, HMI, SCADA) preferred
- Valid unrestricted Arizona Class D Driver License
