Job Summary
Directs marching, jazz, and pep band programs; develops program schedule and budget; coordinates activities with the school calendar; maintains equipment and safety procedures; conducts auditions; promotes the district’s professional image; communicates with parents and stakeholders; provides guidance and accountability to help students benefit from program participation; teaches precautions to prevent injuries; ensures required medical authorizations on file; collaborates with music boosters and supports community service involvement; plans and coordinates performances, clinics, and competitions; ensures self-sustaining activities when subsidies are limited; maintains records and adheres to district policies and licensing agreements; offers supplemental contract opportunities to licensed staff with appropriate training and experience; supports student success through leadership, organization, and program management.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pupil Activity Supervisor Permit
- Music program directing experience or training
- Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers
- Commitment to safety and risk management
- Ability to coordinate with staff and school calendar
- Documentation of appropriate licenses/training as required by district/state education guidelines
