Job Summary
Directs marching, jazz, and pep band programs, promoting school pride. Leads and supports the band program, including developing program schedules and budgets, requisitioning supplies/equipment, coordinating with staff and the school calendar, ensuring safety and compliance, and publicizing program information. Oversees auditions, equipment maintenance, and fundraising activities, while guiding students to improve individual and group skills and participate in competitions and community events. Requires collaboration with parents, staff, and administration, with responsibilities that may be reassigned to meet program objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Musical instruction skills substantiated by training and/or work experience
- Valid Pupil Activity Supervisor Permit
- Meets all mandated health screening requirements
- Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
- Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team
- Commitment to keep current with work skills essential to the objectives of the position
