Job Summary
Instrument Test and Process Technician role performing assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of instrument production lines; serves as the manufacturing process owner for assigned lines with responsibility for safety, delivery, quality, and cost; develops expertise in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting for assigned platforms; collaborates with Manufacturing Operators to meet weekly production goals; troubleshoots electronic circuits, PCBs, mechanical systems, and integrated electromechanical systems including software; supports process engineering activities (Deviation Waivers, Quality Notifications, Repair/Re-work forms); trains production associates on procedures; works with Engineers to solve design/manufacturing challenges; recommends continuous improvement opportunities; performs feasibility tests; revises and validates procedures; provides engineering support and testing under department guidance; adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices and BD Quality Standards; follows safety and housekeeping policies; overtime as required; preferred candidates with two-year associate degree and robotics experience; strong communication and leadership capabilities; proficient in English; strong PC skills; ability to manage multiple production orders; focus on continuous improvement and problem solving; in-office presence required per BD policy with remote/field distinctions noted in location details; vaccine/testing policies may apply depending on location.
Required Qualifications
- Two year Associates degree in mechanical or electronics or relevant degree
- Robotics experience preferred
- Must demonstrate capability to test for highly complex electromechanical instruments
- Must demonstrate capability to communicate clearly through both verbal and written communication to support process engineering team
- Proven ability and accountability to results and to improve performance and processes across a team, work cell, or project
- Must demonstrate the ability to lead quality, CI, and System reviews including root cause analysis and providing solutions to a wide range of production and system issues
