Job Summary
Inspect, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair industrial instrumentation and control systems including control valves, transmitters, PLCs, and DCS. Diagnose problems involving sensors and final control elements, remove defective components, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment supporting flow, pressure, temperature, level, and chemical composition measurements. Utilize pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing equipment to identify root causes of failures, review technical documentation, and verify proper operation before returning systems to service. Partner with Operations and Engineering to support equipment modifications, startups, and reliability initiatives while maintaining accurate documentation in the CMMS. This hands-on role ensures plant reliability, process control, safety, and equipment uptime within an expanding manufacturing team in Cincinnati.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Instrumentation Technician, I&C Technician, Controls Technician, or similar industrial maintenance professional
- Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation used to measure and control flow, pressure, temperature, level, and chemical composition
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial control systems
- Experience with PLCs, DCS systems, transmitters, sensors, control valves, and final control elements
- Experience calibrating industrial instruments and control devices
- Working knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems
- Ability to use electrical and instrumentation testing and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, circuit diagrams, blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical specifications
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities
- Experience maintaining equipment history and work records within a CMMS
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within a chemical plant, process manufacturing, or similar industrial environment
- Experience supporting process control systems in a continuous production operation
- Knowledge of industrial preventive and predictive maintenance practices
- Experience supporting equipment startups, upgrades, and reliability improvement projects
