Instrument Technician I

Job Summary

Decontaminate, assemble, package, inspect, and test medical instruments and sets. Maintain records of loads and items removed for processing, then transport carts to and from the sterilization department. Perform routine biological and diagnostic testing on steam autoclaves, Sterrad, and System 1E equipment. Assist Operating Room staff with supplies and equipment while communicating professionally under pressure. Answer directly to the Sterile Processing Supervisor and fulfill other assigned duties to serve the OR's sterile instrument needs.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Must understand the URGENCY of the OR staff's requests
  • Answer directly to the Sterile Processing Supervisor
  • Other related duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Instrument Tech
  • Work experience as an Instrument Tech
  • Experience fulfilling orders/requests (packing, assembling & stocking items)
