Job Summary
Instrument Technician I–III needed to inspect, test, service, repair, configure, calibrate, and install indicating, recording, and automatic control instruments (flow meters, pressure gauges, thermometers, regulators, systems) in a power station; locate causes of defective performance, report findings to supervisor, replace parts, perform preventive maintenance, test flue gas, and record data. Role may involve acting as project lead for control system upgrades/modifications and may include training less experienced technicians. Requires an Associate’s Degree in Electronics or related technology (or equivalent HS diploma with applicable experience), ability to troubleshoot, utilize drawings, and a valid driver’s license; willingness to work OT including nights and weekends. Preference for fossil power station instrumentation experience, CEMS troubleshooting, Emerson Ovation controls, and PLC/ladder logic experience.
Required Qualifications
- Instrument Technician I: Associate's Degree in Electronics or related technology, with 0-2+ years in industrial environment OR High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years related experience.
- Instrument Technician II: Associate's Degree in Electronics or related technology, with at least 3 years in industrial environment OR High School Diploma or GED with at least 5 years related experience.
- Instrument Technician III: Associate's Degree in Electronics or related technology, with at least 5+ years in industrial environment OR High School Diploma or GED with at least 7 years related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot various components.
- Ability to utilize configuration drawings.
- Valid Driver's license.
