Instrument Technician - Commissioning

Job Summary
Perform commissioning tasks on instrumentation systems including transmitters, gauges, control valves, and sensors. Conduct loop checks, signal verification, and calibration of field instruments to ensure accuracy. Diagnose and rectify instrument faults during commissioning and start-up phases. Record calibration data, test results, and prepare commissioning reports while ensuring adherence to offshore HSE standards, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and permit-to-work systems. Collaborate with instrument foremen, engineers, and electrical teams to achieve commissioning milestones. Requires a diploma in instrumentation or electrical engineering with 3–5 years of offshore experience and valid H2S, TBOSIET, and OMF cards.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificate in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3–5 years of offshore instrumentation commissioning experience
- Strong knowledge of instrument calibration, tubing works, and Ex-rated equipment installations
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and commissioning procedures
- Familiarity with IEC, ISA, and NOC standards
- Valid H2S, TBOSIET and OMF cards
- Experience with DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems
- Skilled in troubleshooting instrument loops and control systems
