Job Summary
Instrument Technical Sales Specialist (TSS-I) responsible for leading technical engagement and shaping solutions to accelerate instrument sales within Waters Biosciences. Demands deep scientific understanding, customer insight, and execution discipline to translate complex workflows into differentiated, value-driven applications across instruments, consumables, and software. Partner with Account Managers to qualify opportunities, design workflows, demonstrate technology, address technical objections, and drive competitive differentiation to shorten sales cycles and increase win rates. Requires strong presentation skills, ability to convey complex concepts to scientific and business stakeholders, and willingness to travel within the New England territory (Boston area focus) to engage customers face-to-face and advance revenue growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related scientific field
- Experience in technical sales, applications, laboratory, or scientific roles
- Strong presentation and customer-facing communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into customer value
- Willingness to travel within assigned territory (up to 50-60% travel)
