Job Summary
Sterile Processing Instrument Technician I role at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO. Responsibilities include decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments and equipment; maintaining documentation in logs/computer systems; prioritizing instrumentation for processing; handling telephones and dispatching instrumentation and supplies; adhering to Manufacturer's Instructions for Use and hospital policies; and functioning within the Central Sterile department. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months of Sterile Processing experience (or 400 hours of hands-on experience), CRCST or CSPDT certification, basic computer skills, PPE use, and the ability to follow directions and operate equipment. Full-time position with a 40-hour weekly schedule. Location details: Mercy Hospital Southeast, 1701 Lacey Street, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701. Department: Central Sterile.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months experience in Sterile Processing or 400 hours of hands on experience in Sterile Processing
- CRCST Certification through HSPA or CSPDT through CBSPD
- Basic computer skills
- Must wear PPE
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to operate equipment
