Job Summary
Instrument Specialist position at Xcel Energy in Hayden, CO. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, configuration and repair of power plant instrumentation and process control systems (including CEMS); performing tests required by Plant Operation and regulatory requirements; reviewing, preparing and submitting records; initiating purchase requisitions; maintaining accurate records; and performing equipment/system upgrades for plant optimization. Preferred understanding of plant chemistry, water composition, DCS concepts, and ammonia handling within a power plant. Travel to other sites may be required; back-shift callouts possible. Scheduling includes overtime; resume required with work history. Competitive benefits and a base pay of $62.81/hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year certificate from vocational technical institute in electronics or instrumentation, or company approved equivalent training and/or experience
- Two or more years troubleshooting and repairs to the component level of electronic/industrial instrumentation desired
- Four or more years previous power plant, industrial or refining experience required
