Job Summary
Instrument Operator/Survey Assistant sought to support field surveys with Crew Chief; operate field survey equipment (total stations, GPS), collect data, record surveying notes, set stakes and iron rods, cut/clear brush, and maintain safety and equipment. Responsibilities include ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and quality of work, maintaining equipment, and traveling as required (3–4 weeks minimum travel with per diem). Must have a high school diploma or GED and 3–4 years of land survey field operations experience, plus a valid driver’s license. The role is remote-based with travel, contract-to-hire, and involves lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various field locations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Three (3) to four (4) years of progressive experience in land survey field operations
- Proficiency in land survey equipment (total stations) and GPS
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving history
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances
