Job Summary
Instrument Operator/Sensor role in renewables-focused land surveying. Assists the Crew Chief in operating a field survey crew, ensures accuracy, safety, regulatory compliance, and equipment maintenance. Responsible for recording accurate notes and data with a data collector, setting stakes (wooden and iron), clearing brush, and relocating features. Requires proficiency with land survey equipment (total stations) and GPS, physical mobility on construction sites, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Travel is substantial (3-4 weeks minimum at a time) with a per diem provided. Must have a Valid Driver's License and a clean driving history. A high school diploma or GED is required; 1-2 years of field survey experience is preferred but not necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- One (1) to two (2) years of progressive experience in land survey field is preferred but not necessary
- Proficiency with land survey equipment (total stations) and GPS is required; proficiency with GPS is preferred but not required
- Valid Driver s License and a clean driving history
- Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural, or urban surroundings
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances
