Job Summary
Inspect, troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and maintain instrumentation and control systems throughout the power plant, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues while reading P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals. Test electronic equipment, replace components, and verify instrument operation using calibration tools and CMMS. Prepare work permits, isolate equipment safely, and coordinate repairs with operations and contractors. Order replacement parts for scheduled outages and operate forklifts as needed. Maintain a clean, safe work environment adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Participate in ongoing technical training and assist in mentoring team members. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to work overtime
- Willingness to support plant outages
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET), Electronic Automated Systems (EAS), or a related technical field
- Journeyman-level experience as an Instrument Technician, Instrument Mechanic, I&E Technician, or similar industrial maintenance role
- Experience inspecting, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial instrumentation and control systems
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings, and technical manuals
- Working knowledge of PLC and DCS systems such as Allen-Bradley, Bailey, Westinghouse WDPF, or similar platforms
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process control systems
- Proficiency using calibration equipment, test instruments, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to work in both indoor and outdoor industrial environments
