Job Summary
Journeyman Instrument Mechanic role at Smurfit Westrock in Longview, WA. The technician will support maintenance of electrical systems and instrumentation, including motors, PLC hardware/software, control devices, and electrical wiring. Responsibilities include work from prints/diagrams/specifications for emergency and scheduled repairs, demolition/installation/testing/inspection of electrical systems, and ensuring compliance with NEC/NESC/NFPA/UFC. Requires reading schematics, troubleshooting, testing, maintaining AC/DC systems, and performing a range of maintenance tasks to improve equipment reliability in a pulp and paper manufacturing environment. Must handle physical job requirements (heat, noise, shift work) and be able to work rotating shifts. Required Qualifications
- 4 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent with journeyman level skill set
- Journeyman Instrument Tech equivalent with two years formal education (certified trade school) plus two years relevant experience
- Basic knowledge and experience in computer usage
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to work rotating shifts
- Must be able to pass a multi-phase physical
